I have shot for several years now professionally for both photo and video, but I am not someone who has been in the industry for an incredibly long time. That being said I have worked with a lot of cameras, of all of these I have been the most impressed with the R5 C. The biggest advantages are great resolution, great photography capabilities, good dynamic range, dual native ISO. I also find the dynamic range quite usable and more than what I need. If you are disappointed with the video quality then you don’t know how to use it. Purchase a camera that you need and not just one you want!
I absolutely love it! The auto-focusing is incredible! Videos are amazing, I haven't seen any over heating issues, but, I don't shoot for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. This will be my forever camera when I retire next year and start traveling the world.
This camera has been everything I could've ever asked for in a camera. Great quality photo and video results. I feel as if 10 years ago, when I started dabbling around in photography, this quality wouldn't have been possible. So much capability, and a couple of months later, I'm still learning. Canon really hit this one out of the park.
I upgraded from a Leica SL2-S and the R5C's features are a massive help to my run and gun style of Street Fashion photography. I always shoot in the late afternoon's/dusk and the R5C handles the low light incredibly well. The files have excellent dynamic range and vibrant colors. Shooting 8k video is also impressive and shows so much detail in the playback. I think this will be my main camera for a while.
I’ve been shooting with this camera and I absolutely love it. It is truly the all in one camera. You are truly getting a top of the line cinema camera as well as amazing professional photos. Will be using this camera for a very long time. No problems with overheating like the regular r5. Shot with the r5c all day at a NASCAR race and not a single overheating problem. Definitely get this camera!
I primarily do sports photography and recently upgraded to the R5 from the 80D. I've been extremely happy with the results, especially when shooting night events with lower light. Photos are coming out sharp and shutter speed settings that are allowing me to capture the action shots I'm looking for. One challenge has been that the location of some buttons have changed for me, so I'm still adjusting to that rather going off of muscle memory. Overall, I highly recommend this camera!
This is a great value for a professional camera. I haven't used a Canon camera in many years so there was a bit of a learning curve. After a few hours watching online videos, I've got all my settings just where i want them for wildlife photography, and it's very easy to make adjustments as needed. I think this is the best camera at a reasonable price
Four years ago, when the industry was shifting towards mirrorless technology as the future, I decided to try something new and purchased a Sony camera. While it was a great camera in its own right, I never truly felt comfortable using it. But now, after just three days of testing my new Canon R5 I am happy to say that it has exceeded all my expectations. Everything feels right, just as it should be. This decision to return to Canon has brought me immense joy and satisfaction.
I use the Canon EOS R5 for my YouTube beauty review channel and semi-professional photography. If you aren’t used to this type of camera, you may need to watch how-to videos. Once you begin to master the different settings, lighting, how to attach other features like lenses and mics, you’ll get the best photos and videos of your life.
I finally switched to mirrorless and till now I am pretty happy with my purchase. I was confused initially whether to choose Nikon/Sony/Cannon. I am Nikon DSLR shooter, however was very impressed with Cannon’s recent cameras. Sony was also pretty solid in Mirrorless but Sony doesn’t give that photographer feel, their cameras doesn’t feel great in hand. So finally I am here and so far very happy and satisfied with my purchase.
