After having this camera for more than a year, the Z7 just gets better thanks to firmware updates that have been released. at one point Nikon added, eye detection and animal detection.
Great with F lenses too I took this picture with this camera and my Nikkor 50mm 1.4 F mount. There are many great reviews here and i don't want to repeat the same thing. The auto focus works so fast and is great in low light.
Lots of detail from the 45.7mp sensor? Check. Stabilized sensor? Check. Proper 4K video with focusing? Check. Over 1,200 pictures on full charge? Check. Small and lightweight? Check. Ok, it's a winner! Works awesome, even with F-mount lenses. Video though is the biggest improvement!
Picture quality is superb. I also own a D750 and by comparison, the Z7 is far superior. However, focusing is a real issue. I do a lot of wildlife photography with long lenses (to 500mm) and I have found focusing very difficult to latch onto a subject, even with single point focusing selected, especially in more complex situations such as a bird in a distant tree. The D750 by comparison had almost no such issues, and locked onto subjects first time almost intuitively. With the Z7 focus hunting is frequent under varying conditions, even in strong sunlight. I am hoping Nikon has some improvements that they can make in firmware.
The detail this camera captures with native Z lenses is remarkable.
The camera speaks for itself. The bundle is a great bargain especially with the 128gb SD Card.
