Great camera with the interesting feature of seeing exactly what your exposure will be through the viewfinder as you compose the image. Bit of a lag from turn on to ready to shoot but not a deal breaker for a landscape photographer. Had to get used to not seeing anything through the viewfinder until I turned on the camera, but again not a deal breaker. I like the smaller size and lighter weight over my old D850. I bought the 24-200 Z lens with it and find it to be a great lens combo and also light weight.
This is the camera I lusted for ever since I tried one out. It has the resolution to capture macros, model portraits, and scenic shots - my typical repertoire - and not lose essential image quality during post processing.
I recommend that one buy Z-series S model lenses, not use the FTZ adapter, to maximize image quality. The only drawback is that Nikon has not released a full line on S model lenses as of this writing.
Probably the best of the mirrorless full frames for landscapes as of mid-2021. AF tricks lag behind competitors at the moment, but it’s just software, so improvements are to be expected.
I received this Z7II yesterday and immediately put it through its paces. There seems to be nothing left out in this camera.
This Nikon is a very rugged camera built like a tank but still light weight, looking forward to this summer to take some pictures of the canyon and the surrounding area. Also looking forward to doing some Astro-Photo work with my new telescope.
For a begginer like me I've taken superbs photos using this camera. It's easy to use. It's sturdy and weather sealed. Learning curve is easy. Can't wait for summer to fully utilize its potential.
