I have the Z 70-200mm f/2.8, and wanted the Z 24-70 to cover the range below 70mm. The Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens will not disappoint. It has the same qualities of excellence like the Z 70-200 f/2.8. It's a little pricey, like all Z lenses, but to me, it was worth every penny. So happy that I made the investment.

Incredible crispness, and easy to use. One of many great Z lenses. I've noticed some diffraction (prismic) effects, but that's "physics" for small apertures on any lens.

The best sharp focusing lens.

This is the new 24-70 f/2.8 for the Nikon Mirrorless cameras. While the 24-70 f/4 is great, this is absolutely the best 24-70 I have ever owned, of any brand. Picture quality is superb. It also doesn't have the annoying collapsing lens locking mechanism the f/4 has. This lens shows what Nikon is able to do when it decides to build a lens without worrying about size and weight. Glass is heavy and great glass is heavier. That said, while this weighs more in-hand then the f/4, it is very well balanced on the Z camera bodies.

Overall, this is a great lens. I sold my f mount 24-70 when I decided to purchase this lens.

This is the best 24-70 I’ve ever used. The image quality, sharpness, contrast, color is better than my f-mount Nikon primes. Since buying this lens, I’ve sold my Nikon 85mm 1.8 G, Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art, and the Nikon 24-70 F4 Z mount kit lens, simply because they became obsolete the moment I put this lens (24-70 f2.8 S) on my Z 6 and Z 6ii. In my opinion it’s far better than the 24-70 f4 S kit lens. The f4 kit lens seems clinical and has a mundane-fine quality to the images... where the 24-70 2.8 S has a beautiful artful rendering quality to the images. I’ve stayed away from 24-70 lenses in the past because this focal range is just so standard and boring... but this lens has converted me.

I really struggled with deciding to get this or a Nikon F mount 24-70 (Nikon, Tamron, sigma) but I'm very happy with the lens I got. It's pricey but it focuses fast, silently, and accurately. Image quality is incredible at every focal length. And it just feels incredible in the hand. Its a bit weighty and chunky but if feels so solid and feels like a lens costing 2.4k. The manual focus and programmable rings feel alright. It doesn't physically focus the lens like F mount lens and instead uses focus by wire (electronic). But the delay from moving the ring to having the lens change focus is very fast and feels responsive. It feels miles better than what I experienced with some Fuji and Sony lens (although usually cheaper lens on older cameras).

I was in love immediately i started using it. It is light and has really opened my eyes on how good native lenses work

This was the last lens I needed for the “holy Trinity” of Nikon lenses. The other two being the 70-200 f/2.8 S and 14-24 f/2.8 S lenses. I’ve been using them on my Z6ii and Z9 bodies and they are amazingly fast, quiet, and tack sharp images.

This is fantastic lens for the Nikon Z system and probably a must have for al types of photography.
