I kept on putting off buying this lens, until an opportunity presented itself, making it impossible to continue doing so. This lens, at EVERY focal length, and every aperture, is outstanding. Paired with my Canon 1DX, this combination never misses; my 1DX suddenly feels brand new. 2.8 is tack sharp in situations you couldn't possible expect it to be. Every shot you capture with this glass, fills you with shame that you waited so long to get one. Stop waiting...

Very heavy for handheld photography. Image is crisp though.

Should have bought it sooner

I've owned this lens for about 6 months now and it is now my "go to" glass. The sharpness is impeccable. The image stabilization is beyond parr. My raw files have never looked this good in low light. At 70mm or 200mm the image will still be sharp! The auto focus is fast and on point. The weight may put some people off, but beyond that I cannot think of any negatives when it comes to this product. The colors are rich and the contrast is makes them pop! Get this lens. If you can afford it then do it! You WILL NOT be disappointed.

I held off buying one of these for a very long time due to price, so this version is all I know. I really don't think a lens can get much better..or at all. You cannot go wrong with this. The posted owl images are cropped. The originals are excellent! If you can afford this.....get it! All the best.
