I had the first version of this lens about 15 years ago, and this version is a definite improvement. It has a steep price tag, but you definitely get what you pay for.

The picture quality is incredible but unfortunately, I shoot a lot of action shots and this lens is a tad slower than what I need.

Its range, sharpness, build quality, and aesthetics make it a joy to use, and it's no wonder it's always on my camera when I head outside. Out of all the lenses I own, the 70-200 has always been my 'go-to' lens for many situations. It's flexibility to choose either lovely bokeh backgrounds or excellent depth of field depending on the situation and the results I'm trying to achieve. Even though it's a bit pricy, it has already proven to be a great professional tool that does exactly what it's supposed to.

The Lens is somewhat lighter and MUCH sharper. I just returned from an out of state nature shoot where I used this lens extensively hand holding it mostly at 200mm. All the images are tack sharp with excellent colour and detail.

I was shooting with an old lens for years, I started to notice my images were softer and would only get better by editing. I realized that it was probably time to replace it with the most current version. I AM GLAD I DID!!

I must say, this is the GOAT of lenses. The canon 70-200 will take you from family functions to portraiture to sporting events to wildlife, etc. This is lens is heave, so it will take some time to get used to. F2.8 and the zoom capability makes anything possible.

This lens is tack sharp and super fast. It works extremely well removing the normal shake with a long zoom. This lens does extremely well in the dark and dark scenes and lighting typical with stage lighting which makes it perfect for someone like me who does a lot of drama photo shoots. My only critique is, I just wish the lens was lighter but I'll get used to it's weight.
