Initial impressions are good. Still under evaluation. After using the camera with some test pictures, I decided at for the price I do not get sharp enough pictures. What I observed was an image in-focus on the right side of the screen and out of focus on the left side. on the same plane/distance (left/right side). I was waiting a long time for this camera. Maybe just an early production-unit issue that will be fixed as time goes on. My Sony A65 never had such an issue, even with low cost lenses. Menu system and ergonomics are excellent. I like the lock vs. unlock button option on the right side control wheel. 33MP is a sweet spot for me for file size and detail for prints.
I have a Sony a7s3 and bought this as a B cam for weddings and travel photography. I mainly do video so I wanted something that I would be able to shoot 24 fps and maybe a little 60fps, while also taking good photos since the A7S3 is only 12 megapixels. This camera over delivers. Buy it. Unless you need full frame 60fps, this camera is a STEAL for the money
What I like BEST about the SONY A7IV with the LAEA-5 ( no Mirror) is my MINOLTA 200mm 2.8: my MINOLTA 300mm 2.8 and my MINOLTA 400mm 4.5 are FAAAAST focusing!!!!!!
This is my wife’s first full-frame camera but both of us are loving it! The continuous auto-focus is really nice and responsive. She uses it with the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 VXD G2 and they’re a good combo! Here are some raw photos with an s&q video for quick samples.
The autofocus on this camera has been great compared to my old Fujifilm. I really like how it consistently nails focus on the eyes! The image quality is pretty great and I am excited to experiment with the video functionality!
If you pair this with a GM master prime lens, the quality of the pictures are so amazing. If you are looking for an affordable entry level camera this is the one to get! Get this camera and you won't regret it. Loving my new A7 IV so far.
This camera is so great for photography and for videography they got that Teddy 3 megapixel sensor. And got the 4.2.2 color codex for awesome videos quality. It's even better than a 7siii in some areas.
80% of my work is still product photography but video demand has grown to about 20%. Finding a single camera that can do it all has been a dream come true.
This is my first camera, I can put my phone down and I will use the camera to take pictures, it's really great for a beginner like me.
