I’ve been looking for travel camera for while - and this is it. The A7iii with the Tamron 28-75 has been on a few trips, but it’s just too big to stick in a carry-on backpack. The a6400 with the 16-70 f4 and the 35mm oss is my new “go everywhere” set up (I must have got a good copy of the 16-70, no issues at all with it). Image quality and colors are a good match to the A7iii, and (so far) I haven’t missed taking the smaller set-up. I also picked up the Sigma 16mm, and the focus is just as fast as a native Sony lens. The only real issue I have with the camera is the bad battery life.
It is a great mid entry level camera by Sony. The AutoFocus performance (elements borrowed from the flagship A9) is outstanding. The Eye AutoFocus has been made, to my surprise, even better! Eye AF worked even with the kit lens (16-50mm). The EVF is a must for those who shoot outdoors in bright sunlight. And... Finally... there is a flip up screen for selfies and vloggers!!
Love this camera! Definitely worth the thinking of buying it.. a small but powerful camera that delivers a great image and video quality!
Amazing Focusing and Camera for creating youtube videos and more. Tons of features and you really can't go wrong. Not PRO quality but amazing none the less.
Nothing really bad to say about this camera, you get what you pay for and for the price it is certainly worth it. There are obviously better options out there but you're going to pay a much steeper price for those specs. I'd say it's the best camera to purchase within it's price range.
I use my camera to video myself - by myself. The AF on this thing is amazing. Video comes out crisp and clear. Im not sure about pictures yet because I haven’t taken any yet. My only complaint so far is that the cold shoe mount obstructs the screen if you’re trying to film yourself. This is an easy and inexpensive fix as there is an inexpensive cold shoe mount you can buy that places the mounts on the SIDE of the camera. So you can mount your mic, etc without obstructing your view.
It's my first new APS-C camera in 10 years, so of course I'm blown away. The menu is extensive and there is a certain learning curve to it, but there are ways to streamline and personalize the menu with the Fn key. Most fun so far is the S&Q mode: instant slow mo and time lapse.
Happy with the picture quality and versatility
I own 3 of these now. Outstanding heavy duty quality. I use these for Podcast streaming,.
I recommend this camera especially for video recording. If your priority is to take pics then you may go for another brand.
