I upgraded from the A6000 to this A6400 and I haven't looked back. I deal mostly in still photography as a hobby, I am by no means a pro, however if you are looking at this camera I highly recommend it. Picture quality is great, the facial recognition and auto focus are fast and reliable. All of my images are shot with the Sony E-Mount 16-50mm or 55-210mm, and processed in Lightroom.
I initially purchased the canon EOSM50 markii. Loved it’s screen and menus and feel BUT It’s the difference between driving a low end Ford and getting a new midsize Mercedes. From the magnesium case to the feel of the switches. That lens did cause some financial stress but omg it’s worth twice the price. The menus and fn buttons will take some practice and the screen isn’t fully touch sensitive. It only is for focus points. That the canon did well. The positives of the canon are greatly outweighed by the positives of the Sony. If I went back being a sales rep I’d sell Sony or this 6000 series all day long. It’s more then I hoped for and can’t wait to get to the country and shoot my forest. For the first time in years I might like photography again.
My full frame DC-S1R can be a challenge to lug around so I wanted something much smaller and lighter. After many months of research and procrastination I decided to purchase the Sony a6400. This camera is easy to carry around and fun to shoot with. It also has incredibly good autofocus. The menu system isn't the most intuitive but there is a favorite section to put the items I use the most and I have customized the buttons on the body to make this camera very functional for my needs. The 18-135mm lens is the only one I need, for now. At this price point the a6400 is a great deal.
High quality product for a great price
I upgraded from a cannon T5 and so glad I did. Camera is quick, easy to use, and pictures are amazing.
This is the best mirrorless camera on the market that’s meant for people on a budget. The auto focus is kind of funky, but I’m sure there’s some setting to improve the auto focus. Other than that, it’s a great camera!
Image quality is definitely an upgrade from an older Nikon I had
Really got what I paid for and I love it! Just started into photography and filmmaking. The pictures and videos I take look so much better than a smartphone and can't wait to learn more on using it.
Im using this camera for almost a week now. This is the second camera i owned. I like it. Its very compact. Shots are very clear and sharp. Autofocus is also very good. Im using the kit lens right now but im planning on buying a faster lens. Im good with the kit lens so far. Here are the pictures i took using the kit lens. Its 16-50mm lens btw.
I received the Sony in 3 days after I placed the order, arrived in perfect condition.
