I love Sony Mirrorless cameras. The auto focus on this camera is super fast. I usually keep it on medium high speed instead of high plus as it seems to track a little better and I get more in focus shots. I like the flip up screen which makes it nice for taking selfies with my wife and friends. With a kit 16-50 lens it is able to fit in a jacket or cargo pant pocket. super friendly to carry on vacation. The battery life is fairly short compared to the Cannon I used to carry but batteries are cheap and not a problem to carry. Sony has a pretty good range of lenses which they continue to expand on yearly. Lots of features for the money!

Pros -Picture and video quality is top notch -Lighting fast auto-focus -Fairly easy to pick up by a beginner photographer/videographer (such as myself) as well as the ability to hang with the pros -Compact and lightweight makes it easy for hand carrying and vlogging -Low light capability is outstanding -18-50mm lens is a bargain starter lens -EVF is simply marvelous Cons -Battery life could really be better if Sony would update from their 2015 design. So buy a spare and a charger -Screen flip is nice but I really wish it would swing to the side and not the top so that i could use the hot shoe for the mic instead of mounting it to the side (as shown in the pics) -The included mic is certainly usable but I'd recommend getting a mic like I did to really enhance the audio quality

Fast, great features, easy to use alas menu is a bit complicated. overall super happy with this small but loaded camera.

A7R, and even went BACK to crop sensor because of the price and features that this camera offers. If I had the money i would buy the A7iii but because I'm on a budget like most people here, this was the best photography purchase that I have made to contribute to my career. as a photographer. Best 3 Features in my opinion: Sony's Unmatched Realtime Eye-AF The Stupid fast AF for both Photo and Video Weight and Usability and Customizability!

My favorite Setup so far is the a6400 + Sony 85mm 1.8(127.5mm Effective Crop Sensor) or the Sigma 16mm 1.4 (21mm Effective Crop Sensor). So practically getting a 24mm and a 135mm with an amazing body! Just add the flash of your choice!(I'm a portrait Photographer)

This camera is definitely an upgrade from my a6000. But that was not my reason to buy it. I was considering the FDR-AX700 camcorder but when I saw the video recording capabilities of the a6400, it seemed like the right choice, mainly because it is much less expensive than the AX700 and smaller. But what really convinced me was that it does not shut down after only a few minutes of recording as the other alpha models and it has no recording lenght limit. Other great new features are the upgraded eye autofocus and the ability to power it directly via the micro USB port. Finally, image quality is deffinuteky better than the a6000. I can finally use ISO higher than 1600 knowing my images will look good. And lastly, I really like the silent shutter. It is something I really need sometimes snd now I have it.

This is a fantastic little camera. I hadbeen hauling around a Nikon D7000, and it got to be too heavy for my outdoor adventures. I wanted a good travel camera, and this thing ticked all the boxes. I don't do a ton of video, but the 4k it captures is good. I've been successful shooting the Northern Lights as well as the Milky Way with this camera. The sensor is great, and more than capable for astrophotography. I strongly recommend getting a faster lens, like the Sigma 16mm f1.4 Contemporary. The kit lens is fine, and I still use it a lot, but when I know I'll be in a light-compromised setting, the Sigma comes out and it is awesome.

Wonderful camera for travel due to its size, excellent autofocus system very good image quality, one stop less shutter speed than I would like... flash synch speed of 1\160 sec is less than my DSLRs, with no apparent ability for use with high speed synch lighting devices is a negative! I am a Nikon shooter at heart, but this cam was a great addition to the fleet and I am very happy with it, in part because there are third party adapters available that will allow use of my Nikon glass.

I recently purchased the Sony A6400 after retiring my canon 70D. I wanted something that I could take trail running, shoot raw, have high image quality, and a little smaller than a DSLR. The canon A6400 has turned out to be perfect. The photos I shoot are SUPER SHARP, the focus system is awesome and the Kit lens has been surprisingly good. The UI is slightly clunky for someone transitioning from a canon environment, but I'm slowly getting the hang of things. I would recommend buying extra batteries, at least 2 extra batteries as the mirroless lens do not last anywhere close to DSLR's.
