While there are a lot of possible settings for this camera, once set it is easy to use. I have not tried the manual settings yet. I have used this mainly for video with good results. I especially like it having a shoe that I can install a mic or wireless go system with the camera. Like the 18 - 135mm zoom. Few lens changes required.
I can’t say enough good things about this camera. All of the reviews are out there on YouTube so I won’t waste my time talking about it, but I don’t remotely regret buying a crop sensor camera that’s, like, four or five years old in 2023. This is a great camera that takes fantastic shots and lovely video. HIGHLY recommended!!
Focus and exposure are quick and the camera is compact, making it an exceptional camera, not to mention the ability to change lens.
Still exploring the new features. The autofocus tracking rocks. Nice small body size and light weight. Can't wait to get on vacation and play!
The product that buy in confidence!
As a former semi-professional photographer, I was looking for a compact camera to use for daily/family life and the occasional photo/video project, so I could get rid of my clunky pro gear (Canon 5d Mark ii). Obviously it's not full frame, so there is a slight compromise in the look/depth of images, but in general this camera produces amazing results. It's actually better in low light than the 5d Mark ii (which is now a few generations old). My only two qualms are: 1.) Lack is in-body IS. It's pretty difficult to take steady video without a gimbal or tripod, and 2.) Poor battery life. I highly recommend buying multiple batteries, and always having a backup charged! Overall, I'd HIGHLY recommend this camera!
As a martial arts content creator, this is a great camera to have when a camera man is not available. Auto focus really helps when you're repositioning so much. My Rebel T3i gave out after about 10 years. So my only concern is how long this camera will last. Overall it helps me accomplish what I need it to.
I bought this camera as a second body to my A7iii(upgrading to the A7iv) for b-rolls and as a carry-around camera for travel and hiking. I’m very satisfied with the quality of pictures that come out of it. As someone whose first camera was a full-frame, it took me awhile to get adjusted to the crop sensor images. But if you understand how to use 1.5 crop factor, it’s easy to achieve an equivalent full frame look with a lens that is 1.5 times wider. Having said this, sometimes, at a glance, I can’t tell which pictures I snapped with the A7iii or the A6400.
This is a great entry level camera if you want to pursue photography as a hobby or if you have a more expensive camera that you don’t want to carry around to minimize your risks and liabilities for lower budget projects.
Trust me, I would have stayed with Canon FOREVER but I was tired of the subpar 4k video on equally-priced Sony cameras so I had to switch. This Sony camera is AMAZING and I feel silly for not switching sooner!
The camera does not have any heating issues, haven't had it shut off on me yet in 9 months of using it. I didn't have an issue with the shoe being on top, as I hardly used a gimbal (some didn't like that). Also, the colors are nice, perfect for my skin tone (not too blue) and I prefer it over the Canon. I know I probably may change my mind as Canon releases its newer models but for now, I'm very pleased with this Sony. GO SONY!!!!!!! I hope this somewhat helps you :)
