I'm not going to dig into the many areas I could evaluate this camera because there is enough videos online. I will just say that I have the only camera I need and there are plenty of Excellent Sony lenses to be found at less than new prices for those who are budget conscious and extremely high quality for those who want the latest lens.

This camera is so much like the A6000 (and other A6xxx cameras) but the big reason I got this one is because it can shoot 4K video (only 30fps though!) and it can do it without a time limit or over heating. Unlike the A6000 which would stop after 30 mins of record time, the A6400 records for as long as the battery has power. Love that! The new flip up screen (good for selfie / vlog mode) is a nice touch as well but should have instead flipper higher or to the side of the camera. A printed manual would have been nice as well rather than a PDF download. Overall, I love it.

I originally planned to use this for streaming on Twitch. But the more I played around with it and got some lenses...I really am in love with this camera. The 4k video is great for my youtube content. I use a shotgun mic from Rode and it records so well...I really have zero complaints. Granted, this camera is not for noobs like me, I bit off more than I can chew. However, there are dozens of videos online on how to make this camera do whatever you can think of, so it hasn't been a struggle at all. 5/5, well done, Sony.

The video quality is top notch, the camera is light (I come from dslr usage for over a decade). One of the best cameras money can buy. Sony hit it out of the ball park with this one. Just remember that there is no touch screen on this model, I believe the sibling, 6600 has a touch screen.

this camera would be perfect if it had image stabilization. i use a gimbal, weebill S and now get good results with stabilization

This camera is very well made and streamlined for gimbal users. I say that because it doesn't have in-body stabalization. The 16-50mm kit lens has OSS so if you just stick with that it'll be pretty good. Be sure to watch reviews and things to make sure this is the camera for you. It is great for video and would be a nice starter before you go full frame Sony.

Excellent low light quality.

Probably one the best price to performance ratio for this A6400. Sony's auto focus is fast and quick. The kit lens is decent and very compact, great for travel. No IBIS which is downside but the kit lens has OSS which kind of compensate for it. Paired this with a sigma 16 f1.4 and takes sharp crisp photos. Highly recommend.

Still learning how to use this camera as a beginner photographer overall. But so far I love everything about it. Learning how each feature works. Plenty of experts on YouTube have helped me along to get started. The sky is the limited. Looking to purchase additional lenses soon. 5 stars for this bad boy!

I mainly used the a6400 for portrait photography and it's been serving me well so far.

The autofocus is insane, this camera never misses. I simply love it.

I'm happy I went for the bundle that cost me as must as the camera itself. What a great calue.
