The latest review ..handled I the below 0 temps perfectly. Very pressed with the camera and lens. Only complaint flippy back screen no good nikon sad the camera is top end I have a back up camera z50 also excellent except for the flippy screen not use full the 2kit lens that came with kit are useful no problems
I started a little while back with the Z50, and made the move to the Z5 and haven't looked back!! The photos are great, video does exactly what I need, and my only real complaint is the auto focus is a little quirky sometimes, but other than that its great! I even used it in a massive rain storm and the weather sealing made it so I didn't even have to worry!
I picked up the Nikon Z5 to use with vintage manual lenses. Works great! Some day I may add a modern Nikon Z lens. Love the zoom feature for manual focus.
I upgraded from a Nikon 5500 so this was a big leap in technology. I absolutely love this camera! It is pricey but easily justified if I can own it for a decade like I did my last Nikon. The 24-200 kit lens is a must. Its not heavy at all and takes full advantage of the Z5 features. I also recommend the FTZ converter and a flash. No built in flash on the Z5. You can't go wrong with a Z series.
I purchased this camera as a backup to my Nikon Z6ii since I'd heard some amazing things about it. For an entry level mirrorless camera it's amazing bang for your buck, however, I would rather purchase a Z6 or Z6ii. The eye detection on this camera left me disappointed and it couldn't handle higher ISO's as well as the Z6 and Z6ii. If I wasn't a professional photographer or didn't already own the Z6ii I would probably be pretty impressed with the features, but I just prefer the way the Z6ii performs a million times more.
Touch screen is awesome, love the digital view finder, auto-focus is amazing, colors lovely, works great with lens adaptor! Excellent low light performance, and I even think the video is great for family clips when I'm shooting. Can't go wrong with this, also the 2 SD slots is a must for me.
I bought this day 1 and knew that I should have, could have waited for a price drop but I couldn't help it. I was very excited for the new Z camera and thought it would be the perfect upgrade from my old camera. And it is! I recommend this camera and definitely get the lens adapter for more choices on what lenses you want to use.
I have been using Nikon D5200 a while. Got a chance to upgrade to mirrorless z5 and used it for a while. Shooting with 50mm 1.8g F Lenses. Very good experience so far, cheers!
For the price, this is the very best full frame camera to of ever existed! It really is that good! In 98% of the shooting situations, it is impossible to tell the difference in image quality between this camera and cameras costing 2 or 3 times more money.
