The only problem I have which can easily be rectified with the purchase of a tripod is the shaking you get when zooming far.
Tested out in both light and dark conditions did a great job
Camera works as expected. The reviews on the various camera blogs and review websites are spot on - this is a great starter camera. Very easy to use and takes wonderful pictures. The zoom capability is phenomenal. My only complaint is that the software bundle that comes with the camera doesn't support the camera, but that's not the camera's fault, nor the seller's. Corel Aftershot Pro 3 does not list this camera in their support and you are unable to import files into it (check the website on supported cameras and you'll see that only the CoolPix 1000 is supported. I tried installing the CoolPix 1000 camera profile to see if it would read my RAW images and it wouldn't, it's an issue with Corel and I'm hoping they'll add support for this camera in a coming patch as it's a relatively new camera on the market). The remaining programs in the bundle appear to work well, though when loading RAW files into Photoshop gives a prompt to use Aftershot instead, which doesn't really work at the moment due to Corel not including support for the camera. In regards to the bundle, if you're looking to buy this camera, purchase a larger tripod (I bought a 60-inch one here on Amazon for $29). The tripod included in this bundle is 12" high, which is great if you're setting the camera on your desk or a table, but isn't very practical if you're planning on doing the famous moon shots (or any other 2000mm zooming).
Really like the camera. It’s easy to use and takes very good pictures, at least for my purposes.
This bridge camera is awesome! I started taking pictures for my daughters softball team using a Nikon D60 camera which did OK but needed something better to get those quick action shots. The features of this camera make it simple to get the picture you want in an action sequence of any sport. The features of this camera are also nice if you want to photograph landscape or animals in nature. Its an all around great camera...not to mention the crazy zoom capabilities of the camera which arent as great as the P1000 but it is still way more than you will probably need at a cheaper price.
Lovely camera and I’m still learning all about it. It is easy to use, just a huge curve on how to do it well! But I love it so far and the zoom is absolutely amazing on this!! The bundle provides all I need to get going. I also chose to purchase 2 extra batteries and a charger to make my life easier on trips.
I purchased this camera for a trip to New Zealand & Australia. My Nikon D3300 with all my lenses would have been too heavy for the flights. I have used the P950 here at home, to get acquainted with the features, and 'am very happy with the result. The camera is easy to use. Having a 24mm to 2000mm is a bonus in the field without the weight. The P950 weighs just a little over 2 Lbs. as compared to just my Nikkor 200-500 zoom which weighs just over 5 Lbs. I am really looking forward to using this camera on my trip.
Love the camera itself! Couldn't be happier with the way it perfoms. A tad on the heavy side but in my opinion well worth it for all it can do. I only give three stars because I did not receive everything in the package as advertised. I was missing the tripod and the three bay battery charger. I was really looking forward to being able to change all batteries at once.
I can't think of why you'd get this if it's not to photograph birds, but it's REALLY great at photographing birds. This is easily the best bang for buck when it comes to birding. If you're not ready for a full-blown DSLR/Full-frame mirrorless setup with thousands of dollars worth of lenses, get this bad boy.
I use this camera mainly for recording youtube videos and I really think it has taken my channel to a new level. Love it!
