Excellent package of products included in this bundle. Shipped quickly and I was very pleased with the products.
Updated from previous 1-star review. Was very dissatisfied with the vendor because of the bundle. Most of the bundle was sub-par but the main complaint was that the 2 'extra' batteries that came with the camera were not the correct ones. The vendor has since contacted me and replaced the batteries with the correct ones. They also gave me a small discount for the inconvenience. So I was favorably impressed and would now recommend this vendor to others and would buy from them again. As for the camera, it is what I expected from a super zoom bridge camera with a small sensor. The zoom is incredible and the camera works well in good light. A good upgrade from the P900 I had before. I mainly like it because it shoots RAW photos, as well as JPEG, and the new manual focusing lever and dial are great to work with.
This is the very first nice camera I have bought. I always used my phone camera. I enjoy bird watching and could not get a decent shot so I thought I’d invest in a good camera. I was worried it would be difficult to learn to use and too bulky and heavy. I have had it a total of 3 days now and am completely happy! I still have much to learn, but this camera is fun and takes amazing shots! I highly recommend it even if you are a novice.
I like it, perfect for wild lift shooting
Fun learning about this camera. The photos are great. Birds. Squirrels grandkids and it arrived a day earlier than promised. Thanks!!!
The product is lightweight and easy to use. The multiple setting types are excellent. We especially like the Bird and landscape options. There are also beach, dusk, and numerous more. Taking a picture of the moon and actually being able to SEE the craters on the moon is exceptional.
SLR features in an automatic point and shoot. Turn on manual mode and get as complicated as you want. Turn to auto and anyone can get great pictures from up close or very far away.
Solid camera for birding. It allows you to zoom in on and identify birds from a distance that you couldn’t with binoculars alone. But also don’t expect the level of detail and crispness you’d get from a full frame DSLR camera. Remember: it’s still a point and shoot, though a powerful one. And if you take photos at a long distance at full zoom, you’ll need a tripod or monopod, since despite the camera’s image stabilization, the slightest shake will cause blur. I can get really nice photos for subjects that are relatively still in good light, especially at closer range (though any cropping and you quickly lose sharpness). However, it’s not ideal for flying birds or in low light. Overall, a good tool for the price.
I am a wildlife photographer and am using Nikon gears from past 6 years. I have Nikon D500 and also had Nikon Coolpix P900. I sold my P900 and bought Nikon Coolpix P950. Nikon Coolpix P950 has borrowed lot of things from P1000. Like 4K video in 30fps, 1080p in 60fps, And supports Raw format in Images. The EVF is better than P900 and also the Zoom buttom has been smoother compaired to P900. The auto focus si also better when compaire to P900 and the tracking system is lot more better this time. The 4K video quality is awesome. You can view the sample video in my youtube channel " Jakati's Photography Travel & Wildlife. The picture quality is also awesome , even though it has a smaller sensor with 16MP the images are good and sharp. The insane 2000mm zoom is sufficent to view moon's creaters. The camera is very light in weight compare to P1000 and also very handy.
Happy with all the features and build quality. but don't see a real reason why it should be so expensive over its predecessor p900. Modern tech is there but still doesn't justify such as high price. Chose this over p1000 as this is much smaller in size and easy in handling. p1000 is quite bulky and huge to hold and shoot comfortably in comparison to p950. Image stabilization I sensed works in an overdrive at times. Like the larger display as compared to p900. Picture quality - given the zoom levels don't expect extremely good quality pics at high zoom, the idea of zoom is just bring object more closure. If you want a great picture quality pics at high zooms, DSLRs with expensive telephoto lens is the way to go. At this price and given its newer launch compared to p900, very disappointed to see it still has the old USB port for charging. USB-C is the way to go for all modern gadgets.
I have been very satisfied with the camera. It takes incredible pictures. I have been searching for a camera that would get me great zoom capabilities and close range capabilities all in one lens. I purchased the P950 and have been blown away by it. The camera has several programed settings that make birdwatching photos easy, moon photos easy, both of which were huge concerns of mine going in.
The P950 has some key great features over my old P900, raw mode, hot shoe, 4K video. The optics and picture quality are just as good. Took it up to Vermont for the solar eclipse in April, my photos were as good as anything other amateurs posted on the net. Its still compact enough to easily carry it in hand or on a neck strap.
The optical zoom is great for bird photos where it seems like you just can't get enough zoom. The image stabilization is really amazing with decent photos taken at full optical zoom while being hand held. It does a really good job with macro images too. This is a big improvement over it's predecessor the P900. The digital zoom processing seems to have improved too.
It is just great. It's the size of a large DSLR but for me it is NO problem to carry it all day. I like the Zoom Back option to quickly get an overall view. It's fast and precise. I'm amazed at the quality of the images coming from such a small sensor. However, I do shoot in RAW. That option gives a small sensor a chance to look good. I think they have a winner here
The zoom is fantastic, best SLR I have owned. As a techno-wanna-be, I am frustrated to learn the camera. Picture quality is very good. Glad I bought it but the learning curve is steep.
I got this camera a week ago and I have been thrilled with its performance. I feel I have gotten some amazing pictures that I do not think would have been possible with any of my other cameras. I have been out almost everyday taking wildlife shots in my area. As for controls and features. I am very happy. They will feel vary familiar to any long time camera user.
Love this camera! I feel this camera is fairly specialized to the job of photographing wildlife. Clear and close up photos makes it perfect for bird photography. Light and easy to handle, no switching out lenses makes going from a landscape photo to zooming in on a bird a breeze.
I heard good things about this camera so I did some research and was wowed. It has lived up to my expectations. The zoom is amazing, I had an old Canon Rebel. I really liked it. I wanted to be able to zoom more than my 75-300 mm lens would allow. I am not a 'real' photographer so I still have some learning to do to get better at the manual focus and the close up shots, but I am getting slowly better.
I just retired my Nikon Coolpix P900 after 5 years and thousands of photos. I opted for the P950 since the 900 is no longer made. Some minor new features include Moon and Birdwatching on the dial instead of going to the menu which are typical shoots for me. Also love the dusk/dawn and sunrise settings. Still a great camera with the minor upgrades.
I’m not a trained photographer but can take amazing photos with this thing. Mostly wildlife. It’s like a magic camera. I bought this instead of a DSLR because I didn’t want the hassle of hauling lenses around.
I use this camera for bird photography. It’s does a nice job in bright light. Less so in shadows and low light. I love it for hiking and taking pictures. I don’t know much about photography. But I’ve learned that bridge cameras are not perfect. But this camera is a nice compromise that allows you to carry it around without all the extra weight and bulk. And it has a fantastic zoom.
