I upgraded from a D810, even though I was planning to skip a generation. My reasoning initially was for the new button layout, the backlit buttons for working in the dark, the upgraded auto-focus system, and the sensor. So far, I am impressed.
The camera body is in great condition..perfect size for holding and gripping. Love it
It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. It's the creme de la creme of full-frame Nikon cameras. There's countless spec highlights on Youtube. If you buy this camera, you set the bar for your lenses very high. I'm stuck having to buy very expensive glass to get the most of this stellar camera. The level of detail you get is astounding with the high megapixels, even in low-lit areas.
If you're a Nikon shooter and want to get serious, this is what you should buy. Don't skimp out on a cheaper model - This camera will be future proof for several years.
After researching cameras for probably close to 6 months and trying out numerous ones I settled on the D850. It truly is the greatest dslr. I've only owned it about a week but it has taken some gorgeous photos just around town. With the amount of glass available for it it's very hard to beat
The abilities of this camera are beyond my needs. Once set up, it is a mind meld and seems to think for you. I am in no hurry for the next latest thing. I am very, very pleased. You will have a hard time finding a lens that meets the ability of this camera. for focus sharpness color I doubt it has an equal. The only drawback is it is heavy but you won't care, it is worth the burden.
I’ve had this for three days, and haven’t finished testing it yet. But I can tell you, this is the best, most thoroughly thought out camera I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned an F, an F2, a Nikkormat EL, an F3-T, a Nikonos III, a Nikonos V, an F4, an F5, a D200, a D600, a Linhof Technika, a Hasselblad 500c, a Pentax 67, a Graflex Crown Graphic, a Rolliflex, and an Exacta. This is a camera that really offers features of all of those. Not all the features, but enough to make it my favorite photographic tool of all time.
Upgrade from Nikon D7200. Wow I havent been this excited about a camera since I went from a D5000 to a D7000. I was Nervous about purchasing a FX camera and questioned my photography. This camera has revived my passion for taking time and getting the shot I want. Low light is amazing noise at high ISO is such an upgrade. I'm like McDonald's "Lovin it"
I've had multiple DSLR and I have to say this is by far my favorite one I've owned. It's powerful and very customizable in the settings.
This is a top of the line DSLR that produces great images using good glass.
