I upgraded from a D7100. Going from a DX to an FX is already a big change but I am still very surprised with how much better the D850 is. The low light capabilities are really great and the faster shutter speed is very noticeable and awesome. The battery is bigger and the whole body is bigger and heavier, but the images are just so much sharper. The awesome dynamic range is probably the best quality it has.
Love it! Best I’ve ever had. Can’t comment on autofocus since I haven’t used auto on anything in over a decade but yeah, everything is great and works amazingly.
Read the reviews elsewhere, this is the real deal. I have been using a D700 and D800, but this is nigth/day better than both. I still keep my D700 in the rotation because the RAW/JPG files are more reasonably sized. This camera put out monsters. The D800 has to go. It is noisy and slow (3-4fps). For most applications, this camera is amazing.
Can't say enough positive about the D850. Anyone who is a serious shooter knows this is a beast. Yes, the files are large but the crop-ability is amazing. Quality of images. Great video. It's the best tool in my kit bag. Quite often I leave the pro body at home and just take the D850. Recommended, absolutely.
So much to learn with this camera and so much to love. Have only had it a week but I am definitely in love with it. Have not yet tried the video capabilities, but the photos from this are absolutely stunning. And it has the best white balance I have ever seen in a camera. Highly recommended
Admittedly, it's an upgrade from a D5300 and only my second DSLR, but it's flexibility has sold me. The grip is nice and deep, which makes it pretty comfortable. I accidentally tested the weather sealing a tiny bit when a mild sprinkling of rain happened on a hike, but it shrugged it off. I'm sure the weather sealing was made to handle a bit more than just a drizzle.
I thought I had an issue, but was quickly resolved from the vendor. They are very professional.
Does everything you could possibly want a camera to do!
Beast of a camera!!! I made the purchase and never looked back. I like the ability to capture a smaller file size for different types of shoots. The battery life is great if you turn off some of the wireless features.
