The auto-focus is really impressive with some modern lenses and my favorite 55mm 2.8 AI-s lens works. Focus peaking in live view is fun and useful. Touchscreen works like it should. I have yet to get it outside at night with a telescope but I am looking forward to it. Still waiting on XQD card to ship. Will update review as appropriate.

I almost switched to Canon last year, now I am glad I didn't, because since then Nikon has released several new bodies and lenses that I love. I have only had this camera for one week so I am not done testing but so far I am very pleased.

The D850 is just an outstanding camera. I use if for landscape and portrait work, and the quality is exceptional. I also use the D5, but that's mostly for sports where high frame rates are slightly better than the D850. However, the ability to crop a D850 image makes it really useful for sports as well.

As a 20 year Nikon professional photographer who has owned; D100, D200, D300, D3, D4s, D700, D750 D800, D810 I can testify that this is the best (for me) camera that I have ever owned!!! I am currently using the D850 with a D750 as my backup camera. HIGHLY recommended camera.

I'm a senior citizen, and unfortunately the 850 is simply too heavy for me.

I am absolutely in love with this camera! Being the adorkable person that I am, as soon as I opened the box and got the camera body out, I couldn't help but hug it because I knew then my photos were going to rock. And they have! Once I let the battery charge, I went straight into shooting. Best camera ever!

No complaints. Still relevant in 2023 and the best DSLR ever made.

While it took me a while to decide to make this big purchase, it was well worth it. I did my homework and decided to purchase the body only... The camera was shipped and delivered as promised and with a little tweaking of the settings, I back in business!
