Having had a Nikon D3300 kit camera for the past 6 years, it was time to upgrade. Big time! This camera, although not at the top of the Nikon line, was what I had wanted for some time. Having done my research and deciding on another Nikon, this was the biggest bang for the buck. Sure, I could have opted for another brand. But, this Nikon will do everything I want and more. I'm no pro by any means, I love to experiment and plan shots and video. I'm definitely looking forward to using this D7500 for years to come. Now..to get out and use it. I WOULD recommend a LCD screen protector and an extra battery. Nikon brand batteries are a bit more expensive, but OEM batteries seem to cycle the most times through the charger without losing life. There it is. Enjoy.

Overall I'm pleased with this purchase. Response is very peppy. I have not explored the wifi/Bluetooth capabilities yet. After using the D7100 for about 5 years I found the handling of the camera strange and disturbingly weird at first. The high isotope settings work as advertised but are like a double edged sword; be careful what you wish for. I would use the upper settings (>52800) sparingly, ie_ street lights outside of frame flood the scene, etc. I use this product for video clips often. The D7100 would overheat and shut down. The D7500 has not done that yet. The body does warm considerably during use.

Bought this as an upgrade/supplement to my D7100, which, owing to my using it hard, has become somewhat unreliable. The tilting screen is a nice touch, allowing the cell phone like over the head shots. Image quality is very good/excellent: still fine tuning the colorset. With the same lenses, it seems to catch focus better, and has better burst response. I have had a few teething issues with the setting resetting to defaults, perhaps because of the touchscreen. When you intend to capture a high res jpeg and nef, and it's decided a lower res jpeg is what it's going to do, it's a bit frustrating. I now do a quick check, and it seems to have stopped that behavior. I've decided that the single card slot is fine: with a 128 SD, we took over a thousand pictures (both jpeg and nef) in Alaska without making a serious dent in storage, and only had one card to download afterwards.

A giant step up from my previous Nikon. Still figuring out how to use the advanced features. Once again proves that you have to be smarter than the equipment you're using.

I’ve only had the camera for a couple weeks and am taking a lot of time learning to use it. I had a NIkon D40 and, most recently, an Olympus M10, and they both took very good pictures. But, this one is so much easier to use effectively, once you learn all the possibilities—the dials and controls are easy to access when taking a picture. I’m not a beginner, but I’m no expert, and getting everything right in Manual has never been simple or totally successful for me. This camera, however, makes it a breeze to change ISO, Fstop and shutter speed quickly while looking through the view finder. So, if you want to take the time to thoroughly learn to use it, it’s a wonderful camera.

I absolutely love this camera. I upgraded from a Nikon D5xxx and did not need the full blown capabilities of the D500. The D7500 was the perfect upgrade. I use a 128GB stick in it and I have set it up to my taste and I'm taking pictures. I love the speed of the 7500 in continuous mode and the fact I can take a LOT of pictures of fast moving scenes without filling the buffer in a few seconds.

The touchscreen is great, works really well and is very intuitive. I love that it also pulls out and you can use it for low shots or high (above the crowd) shots. The D500 sensor with its integrated AE is superb and provides all the power of the more expensive model in a sensibly priced model. I have no need for a second SD slot, and the camera fist my hands so well, a battery grip would just make it heavier and bulkier.

Love my D7500! Humongous step from the D80 that the SD card reader finally failed. I will not say much now about the D7500. Of course pictures are crispy clear, well balanced colors and brightness, some dont need much retouching. Will report more later, I am learning all the features of this camera. As they say: what you pay is what you get.

Great camera so far. I have a D500 and got the D7500 as my backup camera. I'm using it mostly for 4K videos. Coming from the D500 (and the D810 before it) I don't like how small and light it is, but that's just my personal preference. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the lack of a second memory card slot and battery grip. I understand that Nikon doesn't want to cannibalize the sales of the D500; but come on, those were features that the D7200 already had. Other than that, it's a great body for starting photographers looking for jobs or as a second camera. The ideal scenario for a young professional is a D850 along with a D750 or D500. But not everyone has the money to jump to full frame right away. So, for around the price of a D850, you get a D500/D750 and this camera.
