Really good camera, had a lot of fun with it during this holiday
This is my second Canon. They last a while and enjoy mine very much.
I like this camera after only a bit of messing around with it I figured out the basics and what each button did. All things considered i did know what to do with the iso, aperture, etc. but that you can just figure out on YouTube or by asking anyone that uses a camera
I love it. Can't imagine why I didn't ha e thos camera before.
Automatic mode does not do well in shaded areas. Landscape shots are difficult to achieve with provided lens’s, however, It is possible with lots of minor adjustments, time consuming in manual mode. I would recommend manual mode for beginners.
I have had a Canon rebel for years and was happy to get this for my 16 year old daughter who has a photographer’s eye. My old lenses still work with the new T7 which greatly expands her options. The camera is easy to use but also will be helpful to explore more detailed photography skills.
I like this a lot! That being said, if you are purchasing this to get a clean HDMI output for content creation through a video capture card - look elsewhere. The focus bars appear in the HDMI output; and well that's not what we want when doing content creation. The picture is amazing, but you will need to use the Windows Canon Software to get an image. My Mac detects it just fine, but Windows needs the Canon software. Pictures are amazing, video is amazing.
I bought this camera to upgrade and replace my elder EOS Rebel XTi. The XTi was and still is an excellent camera but it had suffered significant pin damage in the CF card slot and I decided to upgrade instead of having it fixed. The T7 is an excellent entry level camera. While it has some lesser features vs the T7i it is still a very capable camera both in automatic mode and in Program Auto or Manual. The feature I was most disappointed in is the "Built in Wi-Fi." Yes, the camera has built in Wi-Fi. You can connect via infrastructure mode (through your home router) or Wi-Fi direct to a smart phone with the Canon smart phone app, to other Canon cameras, certain printers and to a Canon web service. What you cannot do is what you would think would be obvious. You cannot connect the camera via Wi-Fi to the Wi-Fi enabled Canon EOS Utility on a desktop or laptop, in order to download pictures to your computer wirelessly. I was a bit surprised, given that I had a Wi-Fi enabled camera and a Wi-Fi enabled Canon utility that the two would not work together, but apparently Canon chose not to include that feature in the camera's firmware. All the hardware is there to do it, it is simply a software feature not included.
I've loved cannon since I traded up years ago from my beginner point and shoot. This camera was a treat for myself when I decided to start my bucket list and visit Scotland. It did not disappoint. A great upgrade to my 12 year old rebel. Easy to use, outstanding pictures. Couldn't be happier.
Quality of item was first-class. Packaging was breathtaking. Speedy delivery. Exceptionally pleased.
