Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Digital Camera Full Frame with RF24-105mm STM Lens + SanDisk 128GB + ZeeTech Accessory Bundle
There’s a lot about this EOS RP Full-frame Mirrorless camera, from Canon, that I like. I’m coming off a 5DmkII so I am happy with this being in the full frame family. And although I truly love the 5D, I don’t miss its weight. Nor do I miss the additional weight of the 70-200 mm lens. I haven’t had this RP long enough to make educated comparisons, but I have downloaded the Image Transfer Utility, from Canon, which enables getting photos to the PC or phone. It works reasonably well, but I’d just as soon put the SD card in a reader. And again concerning the weight difference I also like the 24-240 mm lens. There is a steep learning curve for me, though, that I’ve still got to overcome as there is so much different and new to absorb; the touch screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Then the movable screen which I missed when I left Panasonic and moved to Canon. And It's great that I can continue using my lenses. I like this camera so much, though, I think I’ll be moving up to the EOS R.
I have owned a 7D for 8 years, but decided to sell it and get a 6D II (Full frame), but when I checked out the RP I changed my mind. The RP is light, full frame, has WiFi and Bluetooth which allows functions from a smartphone and the view finder is exactly what your lens is seeing and is easier to see in bright or dark situations. The downside is the battery, IF you have the WiFi and/or Bluetooth active; otherwise the battery will last much longer. The touchscreen control is a nice feature. When I bought my RP from a local camera shop it included an EF lens adapter so I can use my nifty 50mm lens. I did buy the 24x105mm RF L zoom lens with the camera and that was discounted as well. There aren't many RF lenses at this time, but I expect Canon to start producing them soon. This investment will prove its value when I go to Alaska soon. Based upon my findings, I would recommend this camera. It is the lowest price full-frame camera you can find and it has Canon quality.
So this is, in my opinion, an absolutely amazing camera. I have had for a few months now, and as I've gotten more used to it and keep learning how to better use it, I am very impressed. This is my first "expensive" camera, but after seeing the photos some of my friends with nice cameras get when they travel and of their kids, instead of just using and iPhone camera, the difference is amazing.
Shipped fast and came in great condition
The SD card didn't work but seller shipped out a replacement rightaway at no cost. I'm happy about this purchase
I upgraded from a Canon 70D and couldn't be more satisfied. After years of going "cheap" with APC cameras, going full frame for this price was a no-brainer. I think the RP is going to be a huge success. The body is small and light. I have big hands but find the RP's handling excellent -- button/wheel location is excellent for my needs (mostly amateur travel, portraiture, some sports). The optional grip works well for a heavier lens, but you can certainly go without. The build is nice and solid, although the LCD screen if extended seems a tad fragile. The EVF is sharp and bright. AF is good if not lightning fast.
Much is made of a camera's wifi ability, but I've never been able to get it to work reliably with ANY camera, and this one is no exception. Can't even get it to talk to my network. After 3 tries, I'll stick with SD card/cabling. Just... leave it this the hell off the menu.
Eye/Face detection is impressive (although bit slow to lock on immediately on startup) and 1080p video quality is great ... Touch screen to select focus area is very useful feature and Fv mode is great!
I switched from taking Canon T6i photos and wahted to "up" my camera game. It did not disappoint! I'm using my 24-240mm lens for RP to shoot portraits and landscapes. It's been amazing inn the quality it produces so far!
I got it few months ago with a EF50mmf1.8 and RF24-105mmf4. I don’t why some guys say it doesn’t generate raw files. It generates CR3 like other canon cameras. You can easily edit your shots on AD LT. I like this camera because you can easily invest on better lenses.
