This camera takes by far the best photos I've ever seen in my life physically. Definitely worth the the purchase. Fast delivery and excellent service from this seller like always! Very pleased.
Canon packed a lot into this one. Very happy with image quality. Took a minute to get used to the layout but after a few uses I think it's great. Have had good results with auto-focus. I read some reviews about buffer concerns but have not had any issues myself. Would really like to see a battery grip and some more APS-C lens options from Canon!
Was hyped to see the R7's autofocus in action, so I took it out to Crystal River, Florida (8-27-22), to shoot some of the native wildlife there. I paired it with my RF 100-500L and got stunning images of Cormorants and Dragonflies. The autofocus locked onto a dragonflies compound eyes in animal mode! A couple weeks later (9-12-22), I took it to a local wildlife park. For this trip I mounted the RF 24-240 on it, which yielded 35mm equivalent focal lengths of 38.4 - 384mm. Again, the animal eye AF was outstanding, allowing me to capture beautiful portrait shots of birds there. ISO was set for 1600 because of the deep shade. The camera performed flawlessly, and the raw files cleaned up beautifully in DxO PhotoLab 5. It's no replacement for my R5s, but I will be using this camera with the 24-240 mounted a lot more in the future.
I wanted an additional camera for more indoor photography. I have the R5 for my wildlife. I took this for its first outing to Gardens that had both indoor and outdoor things to photograph . It did very well in low lighting inside and the handheld night feature got me some amazing photo's of the colorful light installation's and water fountain shows. The battery lasted longer than my R5 too.
I recently bought the R7 with the 18 - 45 mm kit lens for my daughter who is taking a college photography class. I regularly use the R5, so I'm familiar enough with the R7 to help her learn to use it. The kit lens, while not the best, is a versatile beginner lens for someone like my daughter who is just learning.
As a primarily wildlife photographer coming from a 90D, this is quite the upgrade. Even though they both have a 32mp sensor, the R7 deals with noise much better. The autofocus is a game changer, but does take a bit to get used to. The electronic viewfinder is great, being able to get an idea of your exposure and view a live histogram and ensure shots are well exposed. The thumb wheel is different than what I was used to, but I prefer this new spot. I do have very small hands, so this smaller body isn't a problem for me. But I could see how it would be too small for some. All in all, great camera. I don't care too much about the lack of lenses for RF-S right now. I use an adapted EF Tamron 150-600 for most wildlife, but plan on getting an RF telephoto. The kit lens is actually pretty good. Reminds me of the kit that came with the 90D (18-135mm Nano USM). This lens is super small and feels cheap, but does produce decent images.
First off, it's a nice size and is comfortable to hold for long periods. My Canon M5 was too small with larger lenses and especially flash. Excellent color and resolution and useful to ISO 6400. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Photography has been my oldest hobby since 1955.
Superb Canon R7 camera that does everything well and has the extra reach for great wildlife photos and does so with 15-30 FPS speed. The sharpness matches my Canon R5. Great value.
I have the R5 and the R7 as well as the 90D and 6DMK2 and I love the R7 most of all because it is the best fit for my photography style. I love photographing wildlife, especially birds and birds i flight. This camera works great and it is the one that I grab before going into the field.
Excellent build quality, fits well in the hand, very good capabilities both in photo and video, beautiful and natural colors, autofocus never fails. Excellent choice for beginner who want to be a professional. I definitely recommend buying it!!!!
This camera is amazing!!! I do wildlife photography and this does very well, the auto focus is fast, low to no noise in the photos, it's very easy to use. I'm also very happy with the camera!!!
Nice camera, it's light and easy to carry. The 18-45 lens bundle works perfectly for my casual photography. It has preset filter modes which works great for dark/less light environments and pics come out really clean.
What I love about this camera is the autofocus. It's so incredibly fast. And the burst mode is nuts. Taking wildlife photos like birds and other super fast things is amazing. It does such a brilliant job of stopping motion with incredible sharpness throughout the image.
I did a bunch of research and diving into videos and I think the R7 is the best value right now in terms of cost to features and performance. It really is a beast of a camera. Definitely a keeper. With the speed at which it takes photos, I've never been let down because I've never missed a shot due to the camera not being ready. It's always ready. I like being able to use the touchscreen to point to where I want it to focus. It may seem like a gimmick but has come in handy several times so far.
We wanted this camera because it is slightly smaller and lighter weight, which suits us for travel as we have a travel channel we are vlogging for. This camera also makes everything look a bit closer because of the cropping feature which works for most of the vlog style shooting we do. Being able to see exactly what your shot is going to look like either through the viewfinder or on the screen takes all of the old guesswork out of the equation. Now you can see the real time difference when you fiddle with fstop, iso, etc. It makes manual shooting an art instead
It has been a good camera for me over the past year. It delivers exceptional image quality, lightning-fast autofocus, and a durable build. The fully articulating touchscreen and battery life are big pluses. Overall, a great investment for photography and videography enthusiasts.
Been using this camera for a while now and love all the features it has. The FV dial setting is the best idea yet. Still more settings to try but so far it really is the best quality camera around.
This camera is a beast! Upgrading from a Canon EOS T7 which I also love, but wanted to make the leap to mirrorless. Be patient as this unit offers lots of options. Do some research before you buy but then just get out and shoot some pictures. I am enjoying the whole experience of learning and using a new camera.
Been a Canon fan for a long time. Had an old T2i DSLR and have been waiting for a decent price on a mirrorless. The R7 was perfect. Everything I tried has exceeded my expectations. The kit lens is very versatile in so many situations. Love it!!
I'm very pleased with this purchase. All of the new features makes the Canon R7 a great step up from Canon's entry level cams such as the Eos M50. The best camera I have had in my hands, the truth is that it is perfect
