Great auto focus, picture quality and ergonomics is wonderfully. It's a lot of camera for the price. I am using this for birds and wildlife along with the RF 100-500 zoom lens. I'm really happy with my purchase.
Excellent camera light weight cool focus it's perfect for bird photography.
I got this as my second camera of my R3 for video and photos and I'm finding myself grabbing this camera more and more. It's great for the price and the specs!!
As a dedicated Cannon user, the new EOS R7 has exceed all my expectations. On an early evening trial run, shot everything from ecu's of flowers, to a city skyline in low light, followed by a wine glass at a bar (back lit). Not only the fast auto focusing, but the clarity of each shot and the sensitivity to the different lighting situaltions is amazing! The images are stunning! A winner indeed!
I purchased the Canon R7 to use as my primary photo and video camera for YouTube. I was previously using my phone for these tasks, so the upgrade in quality is huge. The stock 18-150mm lens may not be the best for vlogging but it's very good for top-down product unboxing videos and other tasks where you can move the camera back a bit from the subject. Image stabilization is very good and the main reason I chose the R7 over the R10 model. Easy camera for a novice like me to use. Highly recommend
Great Camera. A big advancement over the 5DMKII that I have used successfully for several years. Feels comfortable in hand. Very quick and responsive. Happy that I made the change to mirrorless. And happy that I waited for Canon to bring this powerful camera to market.
I decided to retire my 10 year old Canon 70D and try this. Truly, it was love at first click. The autofocus is terrific and the sharpness of my photos really made me gasp. I paired it with the EOS lens converter and it worked beautifully. The only slight glitch I had was with the Lensbaby lens. The shutter would not release, so I googled the problem and found out you have to enable the option to release the shutter without a lens. Problem solved. I have an Olympus mirrorless so I was familiar with the menus - I did find the Canon menus simpler and better arranged than the Olympus menus. Plus I love having the touch screen.
I shot with a Canon FT-QL 35mm SLR for 35 years (1968 to 2003) before going to DSLRs. Even the crop sensor EOS Rebel DSLRs dwarfed my FT-QL in size and weight, but they were more capable. Moved to the 70D and then 80D, and finally got my R7 yesterday. It feels like coming home - a modern camera about the same size as the FT-QL, but even more capable than my 80D. Didn't want the kit lens, since I already have the EF-S 18-135 nano USM, but buying the kit was the only way to get the camera, since the body only option has been put on minimal allotments by Canon. Now that I've experimented with the RF-S 18-150. I like it. I'll still keep the nano USM to use with the power zoom adapter, but for walk-around shooting, the R7 kit is perfect.
I've had the EOS R7 and 18-150mm Kit for just a month capturing almost 4,000 images; mostly birds and wildlife. I don't shoot video. The tracking AF and Image Stabilizing features work very well with the RFs 18-150mm and RF 100-400mm. It's fast and captures sharp images. I also appreciate the lighter weight and smaller size. It will share shooting time with the EOS RP .
