Very good camera much lighter has excellent image stabilizer fast auto focusing and easy to use screens
The outstanding technical features of the R7 speak for themselves. One thing not often mentioned is the ergonomics. I switched from the R10 to the R7. Loved the R10, though it was a little small for my old, large, arthritic hands. The R7 is slightly larger, fits much better adding only a little more weight, and the wheel is convenient. My daughter will enjoy the R10 for its size and for being a bit more compact, while the R7 is more comfortable for me. Win, win!
wanted to transition to mirrorless for wildlife. Could not be happier with eye tracking coupled with the 100-500. This is now my go to setup
My primary cameras are EOS R6 bodies but I wanted a mirrorless camera that didn't have the 29 minute, 59 second video recording limitation and wasn't as expensive. (I want to be able to record live performances without having to restart the recording after 30 minutes and didn't want to have to use an external recording monitor.) The EOS R7 fit the bill. Although a smaller body than my R6's, it's quite comfortable. The autofocus works as well as I was expecting (although I haven't had an opportunity to track a fast moving subject in low light but it should handle that as well as the R6.) I've owned several Canon EOS crop cameras over the years, including the Rebel XTi, 60D, 7D, 7D II, M50 and M50 II. This one is the best one yet.
The R7 has been very good. Seems to shoot at a lower ISO then my other Canon D series cameras. Has done very well with a variety of lens, some RF and rest with the RF- EFS adapter. Focus and tracking of birds in flight has been a little different then what I was accustomed to, but getting it figured out.
So far, this is the most capable APS-c camera Canon has ever made. It performs very similarly to the R5, but with more reach. It pairs extremely well with the 800mm f/11. Attached photo is with the 800 and a 1.4 TC.
My wife bought me one for my birthday and it is the best camera I have ever owned, including other Canons and Nikons. My wife got to use it and liked it so much I am getting her one for Christmas.
I'm glad I waited a cropped sensor, mirrorless camera for birds. I'm set for the lesser 15 fps action with CRAW and other speed/memory/buffering affecting options, which is plenty fast for my needs.
Bought this to upgrade my 7DII. It's my first mirrorless body so somewhat of an adjustment but IQ is on par with my 5DIV even at 6400ISO. AF is fast and accurate. Love the focus bracketing feature right out of the camera. Tilt out touch screen already coming in handy. Had to wait on the body only version but happy to finally have it.
So far so good using only a month amazing camera . The camera is great in outdoor setting so far didn't use it in indoors have the R6 . The RF100-500 and the RF 70-200 the EF 100 macro are very very sharp . The focus is very fast and locks on fast. Love to get to use a RF600 f4 love to see what photos and how sharp it would be. Love the R7 great camera. Great video camera just starting to take videos they are very good. This is a great video camera better than the R6
