My setup: EoS R6 + Canon RF to EF adapter + Sigma 24-70 f2.8 art Photography: No complaints, terrific results. Animal eye focus is excellent, people face/eye detection is just too good. Quite a few options available for managing focus. I'm not a pro in this field so won't comment on other features. Just one observation, and it could be because I'm using a somewhat incompatible lens (not an RF), I did see some missing sharpness, but probably like 3-5% less from expectation. Videography: Autofocus is excellent, does sometimes go a lil off if you run close to or away from the subject, but that's acceptable since even manual focus pullers cannot nail it (I guess, again I'm no expert). If you motion towards/away from subject is going to be gradual (like general human walking speed), you shouldn't be worried at all. Overheating is somewhat an issue, but didn't find any major problem that people initially reported that keeping camera ON cuts down from time available to shoot. When I shot a 15 min 4k60p, I had about 15 more mins left. Which is OK. Doesn't affect HD recording options though. Videography doesn't have many options though, you're stuck with IPB, so in future if you expect to lean more towards it and would like to experiment with more and more options, you basically got none. I'm using Resolve 16 for editing (free version) and I cannot open the mp4 files encoded wit H.265 4:2:2 10bit. I have to transcode it to DNx_ or pro-res format, which is a nightmare. Will update if it works on Studio version once I buy it. Summary: Great for photographers and occasional video, not meant for people who majorly work on videos.
Amazing pictures. Great for professionals as well as beginners
My experience with Canon has been with the T3i, T6, 7dmk2 and 6dmk2. Each of these cameras were good in their own ways, but were not perfect. IQ was my biggest complaint, especially in low light. The R6 definitely has better IQ than these previous cameras and performs much better under low light conditions. The eye focus feature is helpful but takes some practice to learn. The images I get with my R6 compared to my 6dmk2 are noticeably sharper and show better tones overall.
am currently using only EF lenses on my R6 thanks to Canon's brilliant adapter! All my EF lenses work flawlessly on my E6 thanks to Canon's adapter. I'm waiting for Canon to release more primes in the near future to keep my R6 kit lightweight. As for the negatives, I'm not a fan of electronic viewfinders. Nothing beats the optical viewfinders of Canon's older dslr's. Also, a top lcd display would have been nice, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
Overall, I highly recommend the R6, especially if you own multiple EF lenses.
I love this camera!! The auto focus is great, image stabilization and picture quality is all great!!! So glad I upgraded!!
It's a great camera. It exceeded my expectations. Very good focus, sharpness and colors
This camera is everything everyone says it is. Amazing picture quality, great image stabilization, and whisper quiet shutter. I paired this with an Rf 50mm prime F 1.8 and shot some amazing video at a work conference. Honestly, if you are not shooting 8k video or need 30+ megapixels, just get the R6 and you will be happy
This camera makes me want to throw away my other cameras.
This camera has exceeded my expectations in terms of sharpness it is better than I could have ever imagined huge upgrade from my previous canon EOS 90d the animal eye tracking AF feature works incredibly well perfect for wildlife photography battery life could be better it is a bit pricey but well worth it in the end
