While it is a little more expensive than other cameras, it is well worth the money. It’s much lighter than my old 5D Mark II and a little smaller, but just as durable. The auto focus points are amazing at tracking subjects so it makes it super easy to use.
I use it to shoot both photo and video content for some of the largest corporations in the world as well as very high end weddings. I have used many different cameras over my career from different brands and I always come back to Canon. The eye detection autofocus is so good, that I don't even have to look at my camera, because I know it will nail the shot almost every time. The color science from Canon is unmatched in my opinion. You really cannot mess up with this camera. Even in the most extreme lighting conditions, if you expose for your highlights, you can almost always recover the shadow detail very easily.
This camera is the best camera that has passed through my hands. The image quality is Super top, the sharpness is brutal but super organic. I come from Sony where the sharpness is super artificial and horrible. The video is super amazing and the colors are amazing. I don't regret a single dollar paid for this camera. I've tried other top cameras from canon, Sony, nikon and Fuji, and none have made me as happy as this one.
The quality it produces is amazing. It is a pro camera that is very easy to use that even beginners could learn it quickly. The customizable options are great. I shoot mostly wildlife images and have to crop a lot. The higher megapixels give me that capability without noticeable loss in quality.
The eye AF is unbelievable, the IQ is superb, and the camera is not just intuitive, but it is fun to use in a way my Sony never was. I've wanted mirrorless years back and bought a Sony, which ended up just sitting in a closet as it never felt right. I am so glad I've found this camera!!!!
The camera takes Amazon pics. I am going to start a photography business as a side hustle. I've been practicing for a few years and finally getting the courage to do so. Love Canon products. Wouldn't chose anything else.
Performance and quality are off the scale. You have to study the manual and use all the resources available to start to get the performance available, and you will immediately start taking photos with resolution you cannot imagine unless you have had a camera in this category before. Expensive but worth the cost. Read the articles online and make your choice, but this is an outstanding piece of technology.
The R5 has impressively low noise when shooting in dark conditions. I walk around the city at night, the camera was perfectly capable of taking clean and beautiful shots. Its image stabilization can catch a fair number of shots at 1/6th of a second and its autofocus hasn't missed a shot, as far as catching people and animals.
Been looking around and doing a ton of research on mirrorless cameras. Great reviews for a reason. Hands down worth the investment. Worth every penny on quality of camera, pictures and settings. Highly recommend this camera to anyone serious about becoming a semi-pro from amateur.
The auto focus is next level. If you are into portrait or animal photography this camera just locks on to the face and eye. Making it much faster to shoot moving subjects. The images come out sharper than my 5D Mark IV. Has better dynamic range, the low light performance is really nice, you can easily do ISO 6400 - 8000 with very pleasing results. The camera is light and fits my hand perfectly with all the buttons in the right spots. Overall I am so satisfied with this camera!!!
