I've been hearing it from Sony mirrorless owners, Fuji, and Canon owners that mirrorless cameras are light years better. I've own the Canon xsi, T3, 7d, 70D, and 5ds. I still have my 6dmki and 90d dslr and for a while I thought my 5Ds couldn't be replaced and now it's on its way to a new owner. I bought the r5 about a week ago after getting the go from my wife. I was going to order on Amazon or other retailer but decided with such a large purchase, I really wanted to see it hands on. Went to local store and got to hold it and learn things about for about 40 mins. I bought it took it home and learned more about it through videos over the next few days. I love the EVF because I can track and make adjust without taking my eye of the subject. While looking through the view finger I can toggle using my finger on the rear view finder and select a subject to follow. I no longer need to guess my setting for certain light conditions, I just look the evf and and adjust from there have the shot I want from the first shot. The iso is much better than my 5ds and the image quality is better with less megapixel. As far as video I have never used it on any of my cameras I have own, but if I do need it I know it's there. I am still using my ef glass and my sigma super zoom lens with no issues using the EF to Eos R adaptor. This camera has made a believer out of me. I'm not a fan boy, just a person very happy with his new camera. I can't wait to learn everything about my r5.

This is hands down the best camera I have ever.

The features are numerous and the competition won't know what hit em. The 8k capability is stunning (CF express or SD card speed class 60 or higher required). Canon never ceases to amaze me. My business is better for it.

This camera is amazing good, Easy to handle, lightweight and powerful. The images I'm getting from this camera are more like the larger even more expensive cameras in the world... Extreme high quality with results that make the viewer go WOW!

Took alot of time and experimentation to figure out camera settings that would deliver satisfyingly accurate outdoor jpeg colors straight out of the camera in both still and video modes. But ultimately I did figure all this out and the picture quality results were excellent. Indoor picture quality and colors are always excellent just using automatic white balance with white priority and auto ISO.

With the included adapter our lens fit with no issue. Compared to the Sony and decided to stay with Canon. So far 100% the right decision

The camera was packaged securely which is reassuring given the price of the R5

It seems very sophisticated in detecting eyes and faces in many circumstances. There is an upcoming firmware update to the R5 that is supposed to help with more scenes (vehicles for example) I am looing forward to the 1.5 firmware release in coming month.

Mine leaked water causing $550 damage. Hardly any water. Poor sealing. Also the R6 colors are much better and the image doesn't fall apart when going up in the ISO as this one. Avoid.
