This is the champ and a monster of a camera. The 45 megapixel will get you the versatility to crop and get sharp pictures. The focus tracking is out of this world. Canon did a great job on the eye focus for people and animal and it's phenomenal. It's also packed with so many options that anyone using the R5 will find what they get comfortable with.

I'm a professional photojourlanist and this camera is the best one I have ever used in my 25 year career. It's like cheating.

Best quality so far

I won't reiterate what has already been said about this camera, but I will highlight a few things I like. I like that it eliminated the need for most of my peripherals. No need for an intervalometer. I like the ability to do time lapses (and holy grail timelaspes) in camera. Coming from the 5D Mk III, the autofocus was amazing, even with the EF lenses I have. The electronic view finder is wonderful and gives so much information. As an aging macro photographer and amateur contortionist to get ground level shots, I *love* the articulating screen.

Verified Purchase Such a brilliant starter camera. Has shoot and go, no faffing, but when you are ready, other modes are built in including full manual operation. The picture quality is very good although I have a preference to a fuller saturation. There are settings in the camera which can be experimented with.

Great camera, go for it. Oh, it’s also very lite indeed. If you come from an SLR age, you will notice straight away. the RF24-105mm lens is awesome.
