I’m astonished that this relatively inexpensive camera has the same autofocus system found on Canon’s top of the line mirrorless cameras costing between five and six thousand dollars. This inclusion means that the chance of getting not just keeper images, but superb ones is much better than systems lacking such an advanced system. There’s nothing to be done for an out of focus image. This camera will, if the user does their part, reduce these to a bare minimum.
I’ve barely touched on many of the sophisticated elements Canon has packed into this small camera. It’s marketed as an entry level prosumer but has the features of cameras costing many times as much. That Canon chose to include its most sophisticated processor and autofocus system at this level surprised me but it’s a boon to the buyer who isn’t up to spending five or six times as much money and who’ll end up with a heavier, bulkier camera for having done so.
It seems for this price, Canon is selling its top of the line autofocus system and throwing in a camera and lens for free. It’s that good.
I've been shooting with Canon Mark II for years and often find myself to leave the camera at home but shoot with my iPhone instead, especially when the iPhone upgraded the camera every year, I became using the Mark II less and less. Why? It is just so heavy to carry around. With Canon R10, this totally changed my habit. I love to take R10 with me, even it has some shortcomings, it is just so user friendlier and so light.
I love this camera and lens kit. After a bit of research, this was my entry into the world of photography. And I am having the best time learning with it. The biggest selling point for me was that it can grow along with me as my skills improve.
WHEN YOU FIRST GET THE CAMERA, KNOW THE CAMERA AND BUTTONS. IF NOT, YOU COULD HAVE PROBLEMS TAKING PHOTOS. ONE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE WAY I HOLD EVERY CAMERA INTERFERS WITH THE CONTROL BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE AS MY HAND TENDS TO LAY ON THEM AND RESULTS IN THE CAMERA NOT FOCUSING PROPERLY. YOUR SITING POINT WILL CHANGE AND YOUR FLASH MY OR NOT WORK. SO, KEEP YOUR HAND AWAY FROM THESE CONTROLS ON THE RIGHT SIDE. ALL SEAD I LOVE THIS CAMERA, AND IN TIME WILL USE IT FOR MOST OF MY PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE FIELD AND INSIDE LOCATIONS. KEEP IN MIND THAT PHOTOGRAPH LANDSCAPES, NATURE, SOCIAL EVENTS AND SPORTS. SO HAVE FUN!
I've only used a little bit so far, but at this point I really like it. Wide range lens and small lightweight body are easier and more convenient to carry around traveling than a larger DSLR. Picture quality is great. Just need to get the hang of the Canon layout since my DSLRs are Nikon.
I bought this camera for my grandbaby as she loves to go with me on my shoots. and we both loved and was very surprised of the quality of picture we got out of it. I actually was comparing it to my R5 that I was shooting with, and I could not tell a difference in quality. It is a little small for my hands but perfect for hers. With large lens it is a little tight for me but smaller lens it feels pretty good for me. I will certainly recommend this camera for anyone that want to test the mirrorless world. There was a guy shooting with a Sony Alpha A6400 and he loved the colors that was coming out of this camera more even thou his picture were very clear as well.
Coming from the Canon m50 mark ii is a true upgrade. I'm a hobbyist Photographer so full frame is not appealing to me and this camera fits the entire bill.
Versatile (good for stills, fast action and distance photography), can use all EF and EF-S lenses with the EF to RF adapter and all the RF lenses, small, lightweight. The 18-150 lens offers superb range. This camera is simply fun to use, easy to handle, and produces nice results.
