This camera is great. It is a big jump from my last gear and IQ is awesome!
Accurate auto focus, fast continuous drive, and stellar imaging. Great for wildlife photography.
I mainly use the 90D to shoot video and I love that the supplied lens is silent.
I was not able to dowload RAW im my MAC Great camera, fast and sharp
awesome camera! i won't own anything but a Canon.
The 90D is a good camera with a couple of flaws... Out of the box, it does not support 24 fps in video but Canon has announced that 24 fps will be made available with a future update in the next few weeks (October/November 2019). I like the larger sensor but the camera's noise reduction in jpg files are too aggressive, even in its minimum settings at low ISO settings like 400. Pictures of foliage such as grass and leaves in the distance are visibly smudged in jpg files but are noticeably better in raw files. Another issue is Canon's new raw file format is not widely recognized, which makes the format difficult if not impossible to use in some applications unless the file is converted, which adds another step in your work. If you take a few hundred or thousand shots during a trip like I do, then that adds a lot time and effort to convert the raw file to another raw file which makes this camera even more difficult to work with. The question remains if there is any picture info degradation in the conversion. Another big issue is that there is an obvious color shift when comparing the jpg image vs the raw file. The jpg images look subtly more vibrant and the color tone is a bit more on the greener side on the raw image. See camerajabber.com's review on the 90D for some sample shots with this issue.
This is a solid general use camera. It does everything well from basic photography to shooting high quality video.
Unless you've been living under a rock for the last 5 years then you know that DSLRs are dying. Sales reflect this and the overall performance of mirrorless cameras are simply better. While technically it is a DSLR, this is also very much a hybrid camera. The eye AF and face detect AF (through the viewfinder) is something that other DSLRs never had in the past. The full size grip set this apart from the small mirrorless cameras that make you pinky dangle, and having to rest your heavy camera on your pinky. The battery life on this is insanely good, and the addition of a joystick is setting this apart from previous iterations of this camera. Frames per second are very good and competitive in it's class. Finally a camera with clean HDMI that allows me to steam online without all those boxes or control settings showing up on my monitor. I really do not know if there is anything not to like about this camera. Overall DSLRs are quickly feeling archaic, but if you know what you are purchasing, and are specifically looking for a DSLR then look no further. If you are look for a good first camera that will last you for the next several years then definitely go for a newer mirrorless like a Fuji X-T30 or Sony a6600. Those 2 cameras smoke this one in every way. Once again if you know what you are buying and consider all the pros and cons then this can potentially be the camera for you.
The EOS 90D is an excellent upgrade from an older Rebel. It is the last of the 35 mm cameras with a mirror and compatible with the EF lens series. Has amazing pixel resolution, and a lower noise sensor, for a great price, and that translates into higher quality photography
I love mine. Taking it on a trip overseas and can’t wait to use it! I have a canon D60 2002 and a 5D 2006, so this will be my first experience taking video with a DSLR
