Works awesome. Recommended to any user
Incredible lowlight performance, It's stunning.
I am new to photography and heard good reviews on this camera. So far it has worked well.
I come from owning the original 6D, and I still believe the original 6D is one of the best cameras a person could buy. Due to a SD card breakage in the SD card slot on the day the 6D Mark II came out it seemed like a weirdly perfect time to upgrade from my original 6D. The 6D Mark II is exactly that, an upgrade. In almost every way this camera is the perfect definition of what a Mark II should be. It improves upon almost everything that was in the original 6D. This is not a 5D Mark IV or a 1DX Mark II or a Nikon, this camera is the 6D Mark II. Canon, before ever having to compete with other companies, has to compete with themselves first. If they released a camera that could do everything, they would only release one camera. If you want 4K, spend more money, or look at other companies. If you love the original 6D, you'll love this camera. It's as simple as that.
I just wanted to post an honest opinion of my experience. An experience of someone who bought this camera on a whim, and then was concerned with what others were saying after the purchase. I've push this camera's settings far and wide, and I will continue to do so for years to come because it's a near-perfect Mark II of a camera I loved.
It is essentially the same as the original 6D but you can definitely feel the difference. It is a solid camera. I am a portrait, newborn, wedding, and sports photographer. So my range of needs are vast. I really like the continuous shooting high mode. That is helpful with sports. I like the AWB with the "white priority." I like the touch screen. It definitely feels more updated when playing with the camera. Testing a photo at 2000 ISO was incredible.
Four years ago, I bought a 6D, upgrading from my 60D. The full-frame camera provided me greater flexibility and helped me become a better photographer: I got shots in low light that I wasn't able to before; I was able to crop in more easily, helping me improve my composition; and the image quality was vastly improved.
Is it a perfect camera? No. But it does further extend the flexibility: I now have a flip screen, to help with those odd angle shots and in shooting video; the extra pixels help with the resolution, especially on landscape shots, and the key factor, it didn't increase in bulk or weight in any significant way.
