I love my 6d mk II. I started photography (a few years ago with an old rebel) because I was traveling so much. I've since upgraded twice - to a 70d and then finally to this camera. I've started up a portrait photography business and this is my workhouse. I've rented the 5d mk IV and was surprised that I greatly preferred my 6d mk II. For starters, the battery life on the 6d mk II is far superior. Obviously you can carry batteries but I was seriously taken aback by how quickly the mk IV died on me during a wedding. I didn't notice any major difference in performance or images. Overall, the 6d mk II has been very reliable.

It always produces stunning images and I'm considering buying another for a backup.

Pros: -The flip screen is a revelation for anyone shooting at an odd angle. I've found it useful for shooting landscapes, crowds of people, ecommerce, live concerts, and candids (shooting from the hip) -I know this isn't unique to this model, but the image processing software from the 5D mk II to the 6D mk II is incredible. Alot has been made of the low light performance of this camera at high ISOs, but again, if you have a 4 or 5 year old camera, the 6D mk II will be a huge improvement. -This camera is significantly lighter and smaller than the 5D series. If you've shot with a 5D, 7D, or a 10D-60D, the 6D mk II's weight reduction is welcomed. -Built in timelapse mode is very convenient. Nikon has had this for a while, but I'm glad Canon finally got onboard with this.

I'm a professional photographer with 25 years experience and have been using Canon 6Ds in my business since they were released. In the full frame world, I progressed from 5D to 5D MK II and then to the 6D. When the 6D Mark II was released, there was a large outcry against the 6D Mark II's sensor which gave me pause. I downloaded sample RAW files, processed them as I would in my business and evaluated them. While I understand the complaints regarding the sensor, I do not feel it is an issue for me sufficient to justify switching to another brand or spending 65% more for 5D Mark IVs.

Over the past week, I have been testing two 6D Mark II bodies to replace my 6Ds which are heavily used and ready for replacement. Thus far, I am more than pleased with the camera. It is more capable in almost every way than a 6D and the sensor is at least as capable as the 6D while rendering greater detail. I am confident that I will be replacing my two 6Ds with the 6D Mark IIs I am testing.

It is likely that anyone successfully using a Canon 6D now will find the 6D Mark II to be an important upgrade. It is fully capable of producing professional quality images on a par with any full frame competitor.

I been shooting film and digital cameras for many years. I own an original 6D and now a 6D mark II. I have a lot of experience with the Canon 5D III as well. In my opinion, the Canon 6D Mk 2 is a significant improvement over the 6. It's true that dynamic range between 100 and 300 ISO probably is a bit poorer than the original 6D but it's still as good as the 5D Mk3. The focus accuracy is fast and spot on, and the lens specific micro focus tracking is dead on with my 24-105 L lens.

The live view focusing is extremely fast and accurate as is the face detection/tracking. The fully articulated screen allows for overhead, and ground shooting as well as blogging, The MkII's video now leverages lens stabilization and 5 axis in body stabilization so, though not 4K, the video is very good as it stays in focus! Finally this camera is outstanding in low light setting which is where phone cameras run out of gas. If you have Canon lens, this is a great camera for full frame quality shooting and a very rationale price point. Finally it's much lighter than a Canon 5D Mk IV which matters on a vacation.

Went from a T3i to a 6D and now the 6DII. I’m Not professional but a hobbyist. I love this camera. Paired with an L lense and this thing is amazing. I normally shoot with a 50mm 1.4 and the pictures are still crazy sharp. Low light shooting at high ISO’s is ouststanding. All the extra features and upgrades, including the flippy screen is great. Price kinda sucks and not having 4k compared to other models and same price range is bummer, but oh well. It’s a camera and not a video camera. Overall satisfied and do not regret it. Picture I attached is from Venice, Hawaii and Peru with a canon 24-70ii, 50 1.4. Bought this camera mainly for vacations. Want great quality pictures.

I got the Canon 6D Mark II to replace an M50 and let me tell ya, what an upgrade ! The 6D M II produces much clearer and sharper images while having a better focus and a wider ISO range.
