I purchased this as an upgrade to my EOS 5D Mark 3 that I used for years. I thought I wouldn't care about the touch screen but it makes menu navigation and focus point selection much easier and faster. There are a lot more options for button customization that can really help you speed things up. I regularly use the built in GPS not just for geotaging but also setting the camera's clock. Some may have wished for an articulating screen but I'm glad they left it off. I prefer a sturdier design and a flip out screen would be the 1st thing break. The 5DM4 is in every way an upgrade to the 5DM3 but, for me, the thing that really sets it apart is the button customization. With the 5DM4 I have all the customization I wan't and still have a few buttons left over. This ability to have more of the buttons do what I want means more time looking through the viewfinder framing my shot and less time looking at the menu.
I got a immediate response and Joe helped me through this camera's setup over the phone.
Honestly I spent a year trying to decide if I should buy a camera off Amazon. I finally bit the bullet and everything is 100. BUT- It was severely late and I almost lost a job over it bc it was supposed to arrive for a photoshoot I had booked. I was not happy about that tbh. Amazon ended up crediting me $50, but I'm still suffering the repercussions of loosing the trust of that first job as it was suppose to bring me multiple others and set me up. They had to wait two weeks for me to get my camera. Make sure you don't need it right away. Otherwise it was brand new in the box, with everything- plus they threw in a cleaner, cloth and a few little other things. I've been using it was my 24-70mm L lens from canon and haven't noticed a single flaw.
I know alot of people were underwhelmed with this body-but I just bought it as my first full-frame camera, and love it.
I upgraded from a RebelT6 after taking several college photography classes, and am now sure I'll continue with photography the rest of my life. I wasn't looking for "the best out there" but with trying to buy secondhand, and the horror stories that came with it, I bit the bullet, and bought a brand new one. I plan to keep this camera for QUITE a while (what more does a serious hobbyist need after purchasing a full-frame sensor?) deciding that if professional photographers are still happily using 1D's, then I could be more than happy with this one.
I haven't used Dual Pixel featues yet, but over the last month, after messing with every concievable setting, it seems like every picture I take has been amazing thus far. I use my 50mm 1.8 lens mostly, and love how everything always seems to look. I look forward to learning every in&out of this camera, and becoming a better photographer.
Like many of you, i was skeptical about this purchase because of the great price and of course, buying online for such an amount and concerned about gettin a rip-off, or gray market. If thats you, read this review... Pros: the price, no probs with the order at all, delivery was on time, boxing was perfect, came with all papers, cables, battery, charger etc. the camera is brand new. once charged, worked as expected/perfectly. the extra battery grip + extra battery (also) worked perfectly- see my other reviews on those. The camera is amazing! Im a happy nikon to canon convert, lol. So far, absolutely no issues at all. Cons: NONE. would highly recommend camera & seller. 5 out of 5 stars.
The seller shipped it the next day and packaged it really well, the camera was intact.
This is simply an amazing camera. Having finally made a leap to full-frame from the XXD line, it really took my photography to the next level. The high ISO performance is spectacular - I'm getting better 11x14 prints at ISO 12,800 than I got at ISO 800 from my 50D. Combined with the current generation of image stabilized lenses giving 4+ stops of assistance, it's a real game changer for available light photography. Hand-held nighttime street photography? No problem.
Really happy with the camera
