I like the manual functions, picture profiles, ND filters, auto focus, clarity, large sensor, full size HDMI jack and no limit on file size. I was intimidated at first but took an online video course that helped me get more out of the camera. I don't like Sony's proprietary hot shoe and the inability to sync with an external time code.
I love this camcorder. It has very clear and crisp video without any graininess even in dark rooms. The focus is really fast and accurate, unlike its predecessor. Menus are clear and easy to work through. The anti-shake feature is amazing
I aimed it at the TV and zoomed in to fill the screen, while holding it in my shaky hand. The final video was as rock steady as if it was on a tripod. Just a great camcorder.
Out of my admiration to the quality and amaziness of its shots i bought another one for Church use, after i followed an editting course online. Honestly Sony is the pioneer in this field.
Item came quick and as expected from 6Ave. The camera works fantastic and takes amazing video. I did a lot of research between the Sony and other similar priced brands, and the Sony won it for me. Big sensor, pro features, but also easy to use on the fly.
I can't say enough good things about this camera.
The AX700 is much bulkier, but if you want the best image quality, especially in less than ideal lighting; bokeh; and manual functions buttons, this is the camcorder for you
This is probably the best non professional 4K camcorder you can buy. The camcorder fits perfectly in your hands and is very similar in size and weight to the original Sony Handycam that worked with video tape and Hi8 tape.. Those were the days of standard definition which looked good at the time but compared to the 4K you can get with the AX700 there is no comparison. The 4K video is extremely sharp, with great detail and excellent color. The builtin audio sounded very good but an external mike would be a better option which I did not try.
This is an amazing camera. I loved it so much I bought another. I have had many cameras over the years and this is my new favorite. I think I will be selling my PMW200. The picture quality is jaw dropping on the ax700 . The screen captures I've taken from it look like stills taken with a nice DSLR. The image has very little noise compared to smaller sensor cameras. I used 2 of them to shoot a musical at my sons High School. The 4k has made it so I can shoot with 2 cameras instead of 3. I can set one camera to cover the full width of the stage and use the other for close and medium shots. With the wide camera it is easy to crop quite a bit without loosing much quality when your final output is 1080P.
