I've had a lot of cameras over the years and I was happy with my Canon camcorder until I became good at using it and experienced enough to know it could never shoot professional quality video.. and I needed 4K so went into research mode for a camcorder that could deliver. Visiting the local camera shop I had the opportunity to talk to the owner, get his advice, and even try several of the cameras he suggested. I'm no brand-name fanboy so I didn't care who made it, I wanted the best picture I could get in something portable enough to carry and Sony camcorders always came to the top of the list.

Wide field of view, nice smooth quiet zoom, light, very fast auto-focus. Good low-light capture. After thinking about it for a few days and further research, I decided this was the camera for me. Takes a little practice to get used to but after a few months of use I can honestly say "I think I made a good choice".

This is my 2nd FDR-AX700. Before purchasing the 2nd camera, I did a TON of research comparing to other cameras in this class. I considered spending an extra $500 for a competitor's camera, but it still didn't have the feature set that this camera does. Is it perfect? No. But the features I need are all there: super slo mo, 4K, 1"cmos, etc. I also use it as a webcam when I'm teaching webinars - that way I can record the video/audio on the camera for full res post production.

So other than not being 60fps I love this camera. I've used it now to record about 2 hours' worth of videos. The quality of the picture is great, and the files were very easy to work with in iMovie. I also bought the bluetooth wireless mic and that is a good compliment. I'm still learning a bit but the one thing I miss from my old camera is that it gave me the running time of the current clip, instead it gives me the total record time. Not a big deal, I'm not going to dock it a star for that petty thing.

This is pricey but I figured it's worth it because it's a relatively new model and is loaded with features (many I won't use). I can't remember what it's called now but the stabilization feature works better than the old Canon camcorder this replaced.

I bought this for my husbands birthday June 9. Ordered June 7 arrived june 9 He was surprised how awesome this camcorder is. The video takes classic images and the phenomenal results make him extremely happy. Thank you for a great product.fast service and great price. Well worth the joy it brings into our life.

Great picture quality, the auto-focus is the greatest feature of this camera which is why I got it. It's auto-adjustment is sensational whether indoors or outdoors and adjusts the lighting well. I'm still looking more into its advanced features, but I'm very satisfied with this camera. Well worth the price!
