I bought this as a second camera for 2-cam shoots - this provides the locked-down wide view along with the FDR-AX100 as the main camera. In industrial plants, I find the AX53 to be much easier to carry around and the wide angle view is very useful. It was very easy to get used to controlling the settings with the manual button and ring. I most often use it to control exposure, followed by focus.
I am a videographer, and I am very happy that I brought this camera, it has enhanced my youtube channel!
I do video's for Model Airplane Flying clubs and the challenge is stable video's of small moving airplanes. The lens in this camera is suburb! The lens stabilization system allows for a smooth realistic picture that translates into what would appear as a real full size airplane. I have used the camera in auto mode for the first two weeks of use and I find no problems with focus or lighting. I love this camera!! The manual exposure really takes care of some lighting enhancements here in the northwest on dull days. Buy this product and you will be thrilled with the performance. Puget Sound Silent Flyers Club
I have decided to write this review after I've read other people complaining about this camera. what they say is true, but they must be professional videographers. For normal people and enthusiasts who are willing to record their daughters dancing show on the theater or their sons game or race (Like I do) this camera does an amazing job. You can not believe the way this stabilizer works! Autofocus is O.K.
We have traveled a lot with it and have used in many situations without complain. Its really strange Sony has not produced more cameras with this system of image stabilization. It outperforms any other camera that I have compared since ive order it almost two years ago. I can really recommend this product.
Excellent product and easy to use. I bought it to record football game and it is very good. Quality is much better than others.
